Clubbiedean, possibly one of the most accessible venues that you could wish for if you live, and or work in Edinburgh. If you take your kit in the car to work with you, even if you work in Leith you could be on the water within 30 minutes!

It lies in a magnificent location above Colinton village with absolutely stonking views back over the city.

Early in the season it doesn’t fish well in an Easterly wind, mind you neither do I if I’m in serious danger of losing appendages in a cold wind.

As the season warms up, dig out the floater (the rest of the lines can be left in the house). Now dig out your buzzer box, a good selection of wee wets, and as the nights lengthen, a selection of Invictas will work a treat.

As the season winds down, find yourself some fry patterns, as Clubbiedean holds huge shoals of minnows which the trout absolutely go nuts for. Kid you not trully excellent sport!!!!
