In no particular order.
Lake of Mentieth. Fine venue situated in the Trossachs. Word of warning, the Lake is a very popular venue, if you want a boat at the weekend you’ll have to book well in advance.
Butterstone. Possibly one of the most picturesque venues anywhere. If the fishing gets dour, put down the rod, and watch the ospreys do it the proper way!
North Third. Just outside Stirling, like Butterstone a bonny venue with some lunking great brutes of trout.
Morton. 20 minutes outside Edinburgh, head along the Calder Road, about a mile before the Lizzie Bryce roundabout you’ll see the signs. Under new management as of start of season 2009.
Raith Lake. We’d almost forgotten about this venue. One for your diary, if the weather is truly foul, and everywhere else is a blow off. Then fire off along here. Due to its sheltered location, it would have to be a particularly wild day to close this venue
Rhiconich Hotel. Want to get away from it all? Then look no further, in fact you probably can’t get much further away without actually needing to get on a ferry.
Langass Lodge. If you thought Rhiconnich was remote, try the Langass Lodge on North Uist (told you next stop would include a trip on some big boat). A bit out of the way, but boy is it worth the effort. Found this place while out that way for work, its a real gem.
Canada Lake. Did a bit of time in South Wales last summer, and came across this wee gem just outside Cardiff. Really nice location full of trout and at a very reasonable price. So if your in that area give it a bash.
Will list some more later.
